The Jacksonville Flounder Pounder is a charity fishing tournament started by Chip Davis in September 2010. It’s more than a fishing tournament – It’s for a good cause helping autistic kids and bettering their future. All proceeds go to JSA (Jacksonville School for Autism)- JSA on Facebook
Jacksonville School for Autism (JSA)
Dedicated to helping individuals with autism and their families by tapping into all available resources to provide “outside of the desk” thinking. With a focus on whole child development and individualized programs that encourage both family and community involvement, JSA is able to nurture each student to reach his/her full potential. Not just a place for learning, JSA creates an environment where relationships grow and lives are changed.
Jacksonville School for Autism (JSA) is celebrating its *9th Annual “Flounder Pounder” Fishing Tournament to benefit children with autism. Chip and Teresa Davis, parents of a JSA student, began organizing this tournament because of their passion for both their son and the school. To date, Flounder Pounder has raised over $300,000 in the past *9 years and has been voted the best tournament in the 904 for several years!
** Side note: The tournament is celebrating it’s 12 year as of this post.
Chip Davis is a Respiratory Therapist and Co owner of Dick’s Wings. CEO of Flounder Pounder Clothing. The concept for Flounder Pounder Clothing started in 2010 with the Jacksonville Flounder Pounder Fishing tournament; a functional and fun way to raise money for the Jacksonville School for Autism (JSA). The tournament has now grown into an entity of it’s own.
Our Co-host, Shelton Hull recently interviewed Chip and the audio will be available here and on The Contrast Project Lounge soon.
Pictures from the tournament will also be made available here and on our social channels.
Until next time, Happy Fishing, and Peace!
